Fake wig and tattoos; man robs Ardmore bank

The FBI is seeking a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred at the American Nation Bank off of Commerce Street in Ardmore. On November 12, 2021, at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers received the initial call about the incident.

According to police reports, a white man wearing a long red wig, a red mask, and a dark shirt with a gold reindeer on it walked into the bank and handed the teller a note.

The note demanded money, and the teller complied. After receiving the money, the suspect left the bank. It is believed that the suspect removed the wig, mask, and shirt once he exited the bank. Security footage at a nearby convenience store shows the suspect wearing a white t-shirt and a green baseball cap. Officials believe he is driving a red pickup with a toolbox in the bed.

Officials released the security photo of the suspect at the convenience store. The photo shows tattoos on his arms. However, that could also have been part of the suspect’s disguise. It is possible the tattoos are from a fake tattoo sleeve shirt.

If anybody has information about the suspect’s identity or location, they are encouraged to immediately call the FBI at 405-290-7770 or the Ardmore Police Department at 580-221-2515. Tips can be made online at tips.fbi.gov.
