Did you know there are only 44 days until Christmas as ofthis paper’s distribution? Are you all prepared? Well, I guess we should wait until Thanksgiving is over.Veterans’ Day is today, Wednesday, November 11 and I hope we were all able to give a silent moment for those who have fallen so that we may enjoy freedom.The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be holding their monthly meeting at the Shay Community Center on Tuesday, November 17 at 11:30 a.m. Please bring your favorite dish. The ladies will be decorating bags to hold the quilts that were made by Phyllis Cox, Ann Hogsed and Kim Gentry. If I missed anyone, please let me know.
It was the time and skills of these few that made this all possible. Their efforts will supply lap quilts to the VA Hospital in Ardmore as well as the Kingston Nursing Home.
Also, this evening at 7:00 p.m., the BC Volunteer FD will be holding their monthly meeting at the Fire Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is still time to get your Holiday lighting for “Lighting up the Marina” that will start the Saturday after Thanksgiving and run until January 1, 2021. Let’s make this a fantastic one.
