Michell Hernandez

Michell Hernandez is a senior at Madill High School and has attended the Madill public schools for six years. Her parents are Cece Moreno and Laurencio Hernandez and her siblings are Miguel, Adriana, and Bryson Hernandez.

During her four-year high school career, Hernandez has been a football and wrestling trainer and participated in track. She won homecoming queen for wrestling her freshman year and has been nominated twice for football.

Her favorite memory from high school was a couple weeks ago when Madill beat Kingston in the Marshall County Super Bowl and getting to paint the trestle with her fellow classmates after the ball game. She said she has a soft spot for veterans.

“My inspiration in life was this brave man who entered the army to serve our country and the people,” Hernandez said. “He entered my life a year ago and changed it by always showing me the importance of loving your life and not to give up. My veteran friend is Abel Ortega.”

She said she owes her coaches and parents a debt of gratitude.

“I’d like to tell my coaches thanks for everything,” she said. “And to my parents, I want to say I love y’all.”

Her plan after high school is to eventually go to college and get a degree to become a traveling nurse. Her advice to her underclassmen are, “live young, wild, and free.”
