Madill soccer travels to Ada

The Madill soccer teams traveled to Ada to play the Cougars in the first district game of the season. The girls lost a heart breaker game after two overtimes. Cielo Gomez and Samantha Dominguez both had two shots on the goal. Mya Ramirez got one shot. Gomez scored in the first half and Jimena Guevara had six saves. The Lady Cougars won on penalties, 3 to 1. Head Coach Jose Cortes attributed their loss to the opposing team’s defense.

“The LadyCats played the best game of the year,” said Cortes. “We possessed the ball for most of the game and kept Ada on their heels, but their goalkeeper and strong defense kept us from scoring.”

After the LadyCats played, it was the boys’ turn. The Wildcats brought the heat to the Cougars during their game when Ezequiel Fuentes took two shots and scored one goal. Dilan Ortiz had two shots and one goal. Francisco Perez had four shots and two goals.

Diego Ibarra had four shots and two goals. Rodrigo Villegas had one shot and Yovanny Robles had two shots and one goal. The Wildcats won this game 7 to 1. Cortes commended the boys on a job well done.

“The Wildcats played their best game of the year,” Cortes said. “Their passes were crisp, their shots were accurate and their team communication was excellent.”
