Madill soccer team advances to quarter finals

The Madill High School boys soccer team had an outstanding offensive game as they beat the Woodward Boomers 6-2. Fransisco Cortes exceled by scoring three goals for the team. Dilan Ortiz also played well by scoring twice. Head coach Jose Cortes said he was pleased with how the boys played.

“The boys worked really hard for this, their passes were crisp, and their shots were clean,” he said. “It was a very good game all around for us.”

The Wildcats advanced to the next round of the class 4A playoffs and compete against the Clinton Red Tornadoes. This matchup will be on May 6 at 6:00 p.m. and will be played in Madill.

Cortes said he is looking forward to the game.

“This is going to be a great matchup,” Cortes said. “Clinton is the defending state champions. They’re an all-around good team and have good passers. This will be a great game between these teams.”
