Molly Fulgham is a senior track star for the Madill Wildcats. Her proud parents are Jeff and Ashli Fulgham – dad and stepmom –along with Amy and Jeremy Mazingo – her mom and stepdad. She is one of seven girls. Her sisters are MJ, Malori, Morgyn, Mati, Harper and Devyn.
Not only does she run track, Fulgham also runs for the Madill Cross Country team, cheered for the Madill High School Cheerleading squad, and been a National Honor Society member.
Fulgham said she has won “lots” of medals.
As far as her accomplishments achieved during high school, she ran at the state track meet in 2019 in the 200, 400 & 4x4 relay, was student of the month for the month of March, and received a scholarship offer from Southeastern to run track. Her goal for this year is to run the 4x4 relay and to go to state again.
“I want to be on that podium,” she said with enthusiasm.
She said she has a multitude of memories from school and sports, but her favorite is when she was at the regional meet her sophomore year ran the 4x4 relay and her teammate Kourtney Porter handed her the baton.
“All I could tell myself was, give it everything you have no matter the pain,” she said. “When I finished, I fell off to the side bawling because no matter the outcome of the race I knew that we had just ran the fastest time we had ever ran. Sure enough, we did, and we got to advance to state. Definitely my proudest moment as a wildcat.”
She shared her love and admiration for her coaches and is thankful for their push for her to achieve more.
“Coach E has been my backbone in track. Every time I say, ‘it’s too hard’ or ‘I don’t know if my legs can run another race’ he makes sure to give me the assurance I need,” Fulgham said. “This is Coach Anderson’s first year with us, and the love and respect I have for her is unreal. They are everything you want and need in a Coach. Thankful to call them mine.”
After graduation, she said she plans on attending Murray State College for two years and then applying for the Dental Hygiene program at Oklahoma University.
“I am beyond thankful for my friends and family who have pushed me to become a better athlete,” she said.
