Diego Ibarra is a senior on the Madill High School Soccer team as well as the American Professional Soccer Club known as the FC Dallas team. His biggest fans consist of his proud parents Arturo Ibarra and Cristina Ibarra along with his siblings Tony Ibarra, Mayra Ibarra, and Chris Ibarra.
Sports, such as Soccer, can change people. They can break down barriers such as language, race, creed, and color. It has shown that regardless of what may separate us as individuals, soccer is a sport that can unite. It is a sport where everyone can play and enjoy it.
Soccer takes tremendous skill and stamina which isn’t a problem for Ibarra since it has always been a part of his life. He has been playing soccer for fourteen years. His goal is to make the State Championship for the first time and hopes to play in this year’s All-State game.
“I just want to keep playing the game I love and at the next level.” Diego shares.
Ibarra’s favorite high school soccer memory was the locker room antics.
“When they would turn the lights off in the locker room and someone would throw cleats. I do not know why!”
He said he appreciates all the support and teaching from his coaches.
“Thanks to my coaches for pushing me to my limits and beyond,” Ibarra said. “You have made me not just a better athlete but a better person as well.”
