Virginia Lou Gentry, 87, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. She was born on September 25, 1932 in Lebanon, Okla. to the late Dave Leon Colson and Susie Lee McKenzie Colson. Lou was raised in Russett where she graduated in 1950.
She married Jessie W. Gentry on November 10, 1951 in Russett. Lou lived in Fort Worth, Texas before moving to Madill in 1971 where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Kingston, Okla. and she enjoyed gardening, reading and playing puzzles. Lou’s greatest love was being with her family.
She is survived by her husband Jessie W. Gentry, Madill, Okla., children; Jesse Gentry and wife Celia, Vernon, Texas, Kenneth Gentry and wife Becky, Madill, Okla., Sharon McDowall and husband Roy, Madill, Okla., Susan Gentis, Madill, Okla., 211 Plaza 11 Grandchildren; • P.O. Lou was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Leon Colson and J. D. Colson, one sister; Iola Catron, two grandchildren; Kendall Gentis and Trevor Gentry.
Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2020 at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a family hour from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. Rick Lane will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Okla.
