Sheila Ann Thompson, 78, of Lebanon, Okla. passed away on May 20, 2022, at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born on May 19, 1944, in Sumter, S.C. to the late Marion Benson Mathis and Mary Jane Elliott Mathis.
Sheila was raised in Del City, Okla. where she graduated high school in 1962. She attended a business school in Oklahoma City before moving to Odessa, Texas. She married James (Jim) Henry Thompson Sr. on June 5, 1964, in Del City. She also lived in Richardson, Texas before moving to Lebanon where she lived the rest of her life.
Sheila enjoyed sewing, cooking, and reading. She was known as a perfectionist and a handyman; she could fix anything.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Jim Thompson of Lebanon, Okla.; children, Keli Burke and husband George of Ardmore, Okla., James Thompson and wife Rachel of Ardmore, Okla.; grandchildren, Taylor and husband David, Gabi and husband Traxton, Uriah and Aiden; great granddaughter, Jane Anne; siblings, Neale Mathis and wife Barbara of Lebanon, Okla., Carey Mathis and wife Maggie of San Antonio, Texas, and Gene Mathis of Lebanon, Okla.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 26, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Mrs. Terri Rushing will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Okla. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
