Ronald Ralph Gibson

Ronald Ralph Gibson, 70, of Madill, Okla. passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born on April 24, 1950 in Madill, Okla. to the late Edward Cornelius Gibson and Willie Hortence Gibson.

Ron was the youngest of five children. He was raised in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1968. He later attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and also joined the National Guard. Ron worked for AT&T as a Communications Technician for 32 years until he retired in 2004.

He married Wanda Louise Carter on December, 13 1977, and they remained married for 36 years until her death in 2014. Ron played bass guitar and sang in many bands over his years. Most notably, he played in the Western Division Band who opened for major acts such as Tim McGraw, Ricky Skaggs, Johnny Paycheck, and others. Ron later hosted Karaoke shows across Oklahoma and played in the church band at Cross-n-Spurs Cowboy Church outside of Madill. He is survived by his children; Joshua Gibson and wife Lauren Gibson of McKinney, Texas, Kellie Richardson of Kingston, Okla., grandchildren; Noland Fognini (10), Jake Gibson(7), Catherine Gibson (5), and Jonah Gibson (1).

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, and his sister Ardena Elizabeth Cardenas.

Service will be Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to The Bread of Life Ministries in Madill, PO Box 105, Madill, Okla. 73446.
