He graduated from Madill High School in 1968 and attended Murray State College in Tishomingo for a year, but decided that wasn’t for him.So, he and Donnie decided to open Hartin’s Welding and the twins owned that together for 51 years. Hartin’s Welding was responsible for building the Durant Livestock Sale Barn, North Fork ranch in Little City, Kinlock Farms and many more barns and fences across the state of Oklahoma and Texas.
Ronnie married Donna Nell Hamilton on November 14, 1975, at Little City Baptist Church where he was a lifetime member. In his youth, Ronnie enjoyed rodeo relay races with Hank, Donnie, and many good friends. He enjoyed camping with his kids, Patty, Goey and Chad, and loved taking them to livestock shows and participating in Easter egg hunts. He especially loved nicknaming everyone he knew. In his later years, Ronnie enjoyed his grandkids and he especially loved to watch them show their cattle. He enjoyed even more Easter egg hunts, getting the truck stuck with Donnie, watching Jose build his house, giving Donna fits, playing dead on his daughter, Patty, and participating in any sort of general mischief and mayhem that he could find or start.
Ronnie served his community well. He was a former President of the Marshall County Junior Livestock Association, a member of the Marshall County Soil Conservation board for over 25 years, and served on the Marshall County Water Board from 1997 to 2018.
