Mary Ann Saxon, 78, of Madill, Okla. passed away on May 24, 2022, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on February 7, 1944, in Chickasha, Okla. to the late Rev. Edwin M. Walker and Lona Bessie Hambleton Walker.
Mary Ann grew up in several different communities throughout Oklahoma due to her father being a Methodist Preacher. She graduated from Madill High School in 1962 and married J. A. Saxon on August 25, 1962, in Idabel, Okla.
Mary Ann worked as the Methodist Church Secretary in Madill for over 32 years retiring in 2005. She was an active member of the church and always enjoyed working and helping with the bizarre. She loved cooking, sewing, and turning out the calves in the roping pen for J. A., Wes and Julie. Her greatest joy was her grandkids and going to their events.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, John and Bill Walker.
She is survived by her husband, J. A. Saxon of Madill, Okla.; children, Julie Barrick of Ardmore, Okla., Wes Saxon and wife Samantha of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Mathew Saxon, Emma Saxon and fiance Jayson Queen, Jesse Saxon and Maggie Saxon, Trenton Barrick and wife Payton, Emily Birch, and husband Jarrin; and great grandchild, Ruby Birch.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Madill, Okla. Interment will be at McMillan Cemetery in Mc-Millan, Okla. Steve and Wanda Littrell will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
Casket Bearers will be Mathew Saxon, Jesse Saxon, Trenton Barrick, Vince Howie, Marc Howie, and Dusty Davis. Honorary Bearers are Dan Harris, Richard Stowers and Jimmy Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Blessing Bucket at the First United Methodist Church of Madill.
