Marilyn J. Harper

Marilyn J. Harper, 85, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born on September 22, 1937, in Lawton, Okla. to the late Austin Bost and Odessa Peters Bost.

Marilyn was raised in Lawton where she graduated from the Lawton High School in 1953. In 1985, she moved to Madill and purchased Oakland Grocery. Marilyn owned and operated the store and was known for her lunch deli food, burritos, fried chicken, and potato wedges. She enjoyed visiting with her customers, riding around, going fishing, going to car shows and car races. Marilyn was a great asset to our community and will be missed.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Curtis and Bill Bost.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Rocky McKelvey and wife Janet of Heath, Texas, Greg McKelvey and wife Terry of Comanche, Okla,; grandchildren, Lauren Beville and husband Kevin, Michael Martinez; great grandchildren, Bentley and Kolby Beville; and companion, Bobby Lowry of Madill, Okla.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
