Margie Colean Orr

Margie Colean Orr, 92 of McMillan, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 9, 2021 at the Southbrook Nursing Center in Ardmore, Okla. She was born on November 8, 1928 in Linn, Okla. to the late John Wesley Hill and Retha Bell Colby Hill.

Margie was raised and lived most of her life in Marshall County. She attended the McMillan school and later married Kenneth “Gene” Lavon Orr on January 2, 1948 in Marshall County, a marriage of 39 years and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1987. Margie worked for the Madill Pants Factory and retired after 32 years. She also worked at the Marietta Cookie Factory for a short time.

Margie was a member of the Lebanon Baptist church and she loved sewing and knitting; she would make clothes for her family. She also enjoyed reading and working in her flower beds. Margie’s favorite thing was when the house was flooded with family and friends, she would cook for them and make loving memories.

She is survived by her children; Tommy Orr and wife Diane of McMillan, Okla., daughter in-law Esther Orr of McMillan, Okla., grandchildren; Kenneth Orr, Carla Bolton, Cherrell Ward, Jennifer Nees, Chris Dark, Robyn Freeland and Renee Johnson, 19 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Johnny Orr, five sisters; Mary, Dora, Alice, Betty Hill and Ida Hudson and four brothers; Clarence, William, Donald and Bobby Hill.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Okla. Roy Vinson will officiate the service.
