Leon Wilma Rushing, 88, of Lebanon, Okla. passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Medical City Hospital in Plano, Texas. She was born on September 8, 1935, in Izzard County, Ark. to the late Clemon Page and Dollie Mae Faught Page.

She was raised in Izzard County and at a young age moved to Powell. Leon attended Powell, Weaverton and Madill schools and later received her GED. She married Charlie Elmo Denver Rushing on January 11, 1952, in DeQueen, Ark. and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2018.

Leon worked at the Madill Pants Factory, Savage Equipment, Brookside Nursing Center as the Activities Director/Social Service and was a caregiver for many Madill residents. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Madill, and she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. Her greatest joy was going to church and being with her family.

Leon was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter,MarthaHagood;threegrandchildren,AmyHagood, Randall Hagood and Charla Rushing; three siblings, Cleo Page, Hoyt Page and Junior Page.

Leon is survived by her children, Charlie Wayne Rushing and wife Kay of Kingston, Okla., Richard Rushing and wife Terri of Lebanon, Okla., Carolyn Fajardo of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Ryan Hagood, Shanna Kay Nixon, Kari Jo Idleman, Wilma Rushing Willis, Mistye Rushing Watkins, Denver Rushing and Diana Fajardo; 23 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and sister, LaVerne Gwartney of Argyle, Texas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family hours from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the New Beginnings Church in Madill, Okla. It will be officiated by Don Williams and Travis Williams.

Interment will be at the Powell Cemetery in Powell, Okla. Service will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome. com.

Casket Bearers will be Billy Gwartney, Joe Gwartney, Clemon Gwartney, Virgil Page, Gary Reid, Bruce Page and Bob Rushing.
