On Thursday, January 7, 2021, Lawrence Haney, Jr., loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord at age 90.

Lawrence was born on June 10, 1930, in Kingston, Okla. to Lawrence Sr. and Dorothy Haney. He moved to Tulsa in 1949 and to Keystone Lake in 1974, where he resided with his family until he moved to Aberdeen Heights Assisted Living in 2017.

On April 17, 1954, he married the love of his life, Virginia Marquette, in Tulsa, Okla. Together, they raised two sons, Larry and Kerry.

He was a devoted follower of Christ, and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He attended many Church of Christ locations, including Kingston, Eastside (Crosstown in Tulsa), Cleveland, Mannford, and Bella Vista, Ark.

He worked various jobs including OTASCO, Morelane, and Sunray DX before opening Millrock Paint Manufacturing Company. He retired in 1986 and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Lawrence had a passion for writing poems and short stories. He published a book in 2005 to serve as a ministry to share the love ofJesus with friends, family, and strangers.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Sr., and his mother, Dorothy. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia, his two children, Larry and wife Diane, Kerry; his brother, Mark Haney, his two grandchildren, Blake, Abby and fiance Ben, and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Parker, and Millie.

Due to COVID-19, a private, family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hope Harbor in Claremore, Okla. Hopeharborinc.org
