Larry Wayne Orr 77, of Buncombe Creek, Okla. passed away on January 28, 2020 at his home in Buncombe Creek. He was born on March 20, 1942 in Yukon, Okla. to the late Jack Dempsey Orr and Opal Fletcher Orr. Larry was raised in Yukon where he graduated high school. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and served all his time at Edwards Air Force Base. He married Sherrie Dunbar on October 24, 1987 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Larry worked several years for Aero Commander in Warr Acres, Okla. before going to work for 18 years for FAA and retiring in 2004.
He moved to Buncombe Creek in 2004 where lived the rest of his life. Larry was a diehard OU fan, enjoyed striper fishing, liked to work outside in the yard and loved being with family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sherrie Orr, Buncombe Creek, Okla.; children, Mike Orr and wife Amanda, Yukon, Okla., Jack Orr and wife Michelle, Slidell, La., Randy Orr, El Reno, Okla., Bobby Key and wife Anne, Yukon, Okla. Joey Key and wife Krista, Tuttle, Okla. and Sherry Orr, Salado, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, cousin, Lynda Rushing, Yukon, Okla., father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.C. Dunbar and Myrt, St. Jo, Texas, daughter-in-law Christine Orr, El Reno, Okla.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and oldest son; Larry Wayne Orr, Jr.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Mike Hobbs will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
