L. D. Scott, 92, of Lebanon, Okla., passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Marietta, Okla. He was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Ada, Okla., to the late Horace Grady Scott and Pearl Izora Deaton Scott. L. D. was raised in the Ada and Latta area and graduated from Latta High School in 1945.

He joined the United States Army and served from 1945 to 1947, in Tokyo, Japan. While in service he received a Victory Medal and an American Theater Ribbon.

L. D. married Cynthia Clariece Griggs on Sept. 1, 1950, and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2004. He moved to Healdton, Okla., where he worked as the store manager for the Stones IGA for over 30 years. In 1980, L. D. moved to Lebanon where fishing became his favorite past time. In 2006, he married Sara Jo Stevens. L. D. also loved gardening, golfing, hunting and woodworking. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon.

He is survived by his wife Sara Jo Scott, Lebanon, Okla.; children: Terry Lynn Scott and wife, Paula Jo, Blanchard, Okla.; Louis Grady Scott and wife, Karyl Lonette, Ardmore, Okla.; Larry Dale Scott and wife, Gina Elizabeth, Kingston, Okla.; Cynthia Dianne Erwin and husband, Michael Alan, Coldsprings, Texas; stepchildren: Dianne Siller and husband, Billy, Tulsa, Okla.; Mark Hill, Springdale, Ark.; Glenda Mays and husband, Wayne, Freeman, S. D.; 13 grandchildren: Nicole Davis, Jason Erwin, Kimberly Erwin, Amy Butler, Jarred Scott, Amanda Scott, Holly Dougherty, Garrett Scott, Jeremy Scott, Randy Scott, Stephen Scott, Zachary Stanley, Zane Stanley and many step grandchildren: seven step granddaughters and 23 great-grandchildren.

L. D. was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Cynthia Scott; one brother: Lewis Scott and two sisters: Norma Jean Alexander and Sue VanDusen.

Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Services were 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the at the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Okla. Bobby Scott officiated the service.

Honorary casket bearers were: Jason Erwin, Jarred Scott, Garrett Scott, Jeremy Scott, Randy Scott, Stephen Scott, Kylar Scott and Chad Dougherty.
