James Allen Pickens, 69, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Wednesday, April13, 2022, at his home in Madill. He was born on November 6, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Okla. to the late Jack Perry Pickens and Chrystene Elizabeth Mayo Pickens. James grew up in Madill where he graduated from Madill High School in 1971 and later attended Vo-tech where he received a welding certificate. He worked for WWTrailers, and opened
He worked for WWTrailers, and opened J & L Quick Stop in Mannsville, Okla. James also worked as a truck driver, a stocker at Thrifty Food Center, on his mom and dads farm and the casino but he loved his lawn care business.
He married Tawana Sue Sprouse on May 8, 1998. James was affiliated with the Methodist faith and loved hunting, fishing, mowing, anything outdoors.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, GW and Inez Mayo
He is survived by his wife, Tawana Sue Pickens of Madill, Okla.; sister, Paula Kay Uzzel and husband Terry of Madill, Okla.; sister-in-law, Jana Hamilton and husband Don of Madill, Okla.; Betty Hill and husband Mike of Binger, Okla.; brother in-law, J ames Sprouse of Madill, Okla.; and nieces and nephews, Bethany Mancini and husband Michael, Allison Graeber and husband Greg.
Visitation was Monday, Aprill8, 2022, from 10:00 a .m. to 8:00p.m. with a family hour from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
Funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Aprill9, 2022, at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Steve Littrell officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
Casket Bearers were Terry Uzzel, Tony Hawkins, Michael Mancini, David Sprouse, Greg Groeber and Royce King.
