James Allen Martin, 82, of Willis, Okla. passed away on March 17, 2020 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born on June 24, 1937 in Vanoss, Okla. to the late Crawford Wise Martin and Myrtle Sylvia Collins Martin. James was raised in Vanoss and moved to Ada, Okla. where he graduated high school in 1955.

He attended ECU and received a degree in Accounting and later attended OU where he received his Master’s in Accounting.

James married Shirley June Jenkins on June 28, 1958 in Ada. He also lived and worked as a CPA in Houston, Texas, Shawnee, Okla., Oklahoma City, Bethany, Okla. and Lewisville, Texas before moving to Willis in 1998.

James was a member of the Willis Baptist Church and he enjoyed cattle ranching and fishing. He never met a stranger, always willing to have a conversation about most anything. He loved his family dearly and thought the world of them.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley June Martin of Willis, Okla., son, Jeffrey Martin of Kingston, Okla., grandchildren, Jessie Martin, Vincent Martin, Crawford Martin and Joseph Martin.

James was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Justin Martin and one brother; Curtis Wayne Martin.

Visitation was Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Willis Baptist Church, Willis, Okla.

Jerry Scott officiated the services. Music was arranged by Willis Baptist Church Choir. Interment was at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
