Jack Peery

On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, Jack Peery, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 75 in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Jack was born on July 29, 1945 in Chickasha, Okla. and married his kindred soul, Judith McCormick, on August 5, 1967. Together, they lovingly raised two children, Jennifer and Jeff Peery.

Jack was an electrician for 53 years and he worked at General Motors in that capacity for 25 years and was owner of Lakeside Electric for the last 15 years which served the Lake Texoma and Marshall County areas. Jack was preceded in death by parents Wilma and James E. Peery, Jr., brother James E. Peery III, and dear granddaughter Christina Peery.

To those that knew him, Jack was known for his compassion and humility. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he was a trusted friend to many, an avid sailor, and a literal Jack of all trades. He is perhaps best known as one half of “Jack and Judy” and the unoffcial mayor of Beachview (a title others gave him whether he wanted it or not ...he didn’t). To those that shared that special place on earth with him, they knew Jack as the man who could do it all - pull out any stuck car, start any boat, and sail in any weather. To his family and friends, he represented the epitome of a life well-lived. His compassion and generosity were a gift to many and he was the informal benevolent leader of a community of people who are all better for having spent a quiet afternoon or many on the beach with him. It is impossible to put into words what Jack meant to his family and dear friends. Suffice it to say, they are immensely proud to be his legacy and will seek to live a life characterized by kindness, humility, and joy as he inspired. He will be deeply missed.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife Judy, sister Jana McConnell, and daughter, Jennifer Peery and husband Mike Walsh, Jeff Peery and Dawn Vieregge, in addition to grandchildren, nieces and nephews: Brynn J. Seamon and fiance Kiersten Burkhalter, Kennedy Peery, Connely Peery and Danielle Herrera, Sean Walsh, Kirstin Butler and Maddox, Carol and Tony Salerno, Cathye and George Merryweather, Clark McConnell, Amy Kendziorski, Karen Salerno and Matt Khirallah, Isabella and Luca, Angela and Tim Wang, Anthony and Belinda Salerno, AJ and Lilly, James E. Peery IV (Jimmy), Spenser and Emmit.
