Ina Daniels-Gilger

Ina June Daniels-Gilger (Grandmother), 84, was welcomed into her heavenly home with Jesus on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. She was born on November 7, 1936 to Marvin L. and Ruby J. Lemonds.

Ina had lived a full and productive life and was a woman of great faith, strong morals and high character. After graduation from Murray State College and Southeastern she taught for the Tishomingo Public School System for many years until her retirement in 1998.

Ina loved the kids she taught, her community and her family. She and husband Vernon owned and operated Daniel’s Drive In. Ina loved her Sonic cokes and fries and was always ready to travel or go on a shopping trip. She found joy in the simplest of things and kept a childlike innocence about her; always joking and being a positive light in the world. She was deeply loved by her children and grandchildren and was without a doubt one of the kindest women you would ever meet.

Ina is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ruby Lemonds; late husbands, Vernon Daniels and Bob Gilger; brother, Paul Lemonds; sister, Loretta Lemonds Wilson; daughter in law, Sharon Daniels.

Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her children, Vernon Daniels and Rhonda of Tishomingo; Danny Daniels and wife Carla of Tishomingo; grandchildren, Scott Daniels and wife Erica, Kelcey Upton and husband Bryant, Ashley Rogers and husband John, Chase Daniels and wife Whitney, Blake Daniels and wife Jaisa, all of Tishomingo; great grandchildren, Ryan, Presley, Landri, Spencer, Natalea, Carli, Laney, Lexy, Case, Brock, Brody, Brax, Brandt, and Taos, all of Tishomingo; sister, Marlene Waitman of Billings, Montana; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Ina Daniels-Gilger was held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Tishomingo Cemetery. Family hour was from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home on Friday, August 13. The family requests for everyone to please wear a mask during visitation.

Ina will be greatly missed but her legacy will be deep and long lasting. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to Pettijohn Springs Christian Camp in Madill, Okla. or to the Westside Church of Christ in Tishomingo. Arrangements under the direction of DeArman - Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo.
