Georgia Lee Williams, age 87, from Grove, Okla., passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at her home at Grandwood Assisted Living.

Georgia was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Grove, Okla., to Denver Gurley and Elsie (Chrisman) Gurley. The Gurley family has been long time members of the Grove community.

Georgia Lee graduated from Grove High school in 1949. She earned her Associate Degree in Business from Oklahoma State A&M in Stillwater, Okla., in 1953 and her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla., in 1978.

Georgia worked as a social worker for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and later in life as a business owner of the “Get N Jet” gift shop at the Lawton Regional Airport. She was a member of the Boulevard Christian Church in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Georgia made friends everywhere she went and was loved by many. She always took the time to visit with others, especially about their families. She will greatly be missed by her family, friends and the Grandwood Assisted Living Community.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Winford Hale and Harold Williams, and special friend Donald J. Miller.

Georgia Lee is survived by three daughters: Oleasa Salkin and husband, Jonathan, of Harrisburg, Pa.; Brenda Kay Ulrich and husband, Don, of Kingston, Okla.; and Debra Parham of Grove, Okla. She leaves behind six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and her “Best Friend Don”.

Per her wishes, her body was donated to the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center for Medical Research.

Memorial services were scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2019, at the Grandwood Assisted Living Center in Grove, Okla.
