Frank Leon Dice, 84, of Cumberland, Okla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. He was born July 6, 1935, in East Lasiter, Marshall Co., Okla., to Frank Earl and Jessie Lee McAdoo Dice.

Leon grew up in the Willis area and went to school at Kingston. He had a profound love of horses and rodeo. He tried his hand at bronc riding and roping, but in 1958, he was drafted into the US Army. He married Janell Long April 26, 1958, in Aiken, S.C. Leon and Janell spent the next 26 years traveling the world with the US Army. He served as a NCO in the Military Police and served his country in Korea and Vietnam.

He retired in 1984, moving back to Cumberland where he started his second career as a farrier. Beside his farrier business, he taught at the Oklahoma State Horse Shoeing School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and coaching his grandkids in youth rodeo. In the last few years he enjoyed watching his great-grandson play baseball. He was a member of the Little City Baptist Church.

Leon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janell Dice of Cumberland, Okla.; two daughters: Tammy Jones and husband, William, of Cumberland, Okla.; Debbie Bigger and husband, Glenn, of Allen, Texas; one son: Troy Dice, of Lindsey, Okla.; grandchildren: Dusty Jones and wife, Chelle of Norman, Okla.; Lacey Davis and husband, Jacky, of Featherston, Okla.; Jessica Dice, of Norman, Okla.; Savannah Crawford and husband, Dustin, of Branson, Mo.; Brandon and Brett Bigger, of Dallas, Texas; one great-grandson: Kollin William Davis, of Featherston, Okla.; one sister: Rita Gustafson and husband, Sparky, of Sadler, Texas; one brother-in-law: Keith Long and wife, Margaret, of Madill, Okla.; sisters-in -law: Joy Dice, of Lewisville, Texas; Colena Long, of Cumberland, Okla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Narvan and JE Dice; two sisters: Maryion Hampton and Delois Dice; two nephews: Charles and Phillip Dice; sister-in-law: Mary Dice and brothers-in-law: Bo Hampton and Paul Long.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Cecil Mackey will officiate. Interment will be at the Cumberland Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be: Mike Pickens, Gary Moore, Robert Moore, Howard Hughes, Jimmy Green and Nick Hartin.
