Frances Smith, 89, of Madill, Okla. passed away on April 29, 2022, at the hospital in Durant, Okla. She was born on January 11, 1933, in Cumberland, Okla. to the late Thomas Haskell McClendon and Vesta Lee Meadows McClendon. Frankie was raised in Cumberland and later lived in Montana before moving to Jacksboro, Texas where she lived most of her life.
She married David Thomas Smith and he preceded her in death in 1984. Frankie worked for several years at the Madill Pants Factory. She lived the past 20 years in Madill.
Frankie attended the Nazarene church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, playing dominoes and watching John Wayne movies and Bonanza.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Lucy Renee Smith; four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Ylonda Wells of Buffalo Gap, Texas; three grandchildren, Mattea, Gabrielle, and Matthew; seven great grandchildren, McKenzie, Shayla, Luke, Lexi, Shyler, Emma, Layken; brothers, James Leroy McClendon and wife Sharon of Duncanville, Texas, Thomas Lee McClendon of Madill, Okla.; many other nephews, nieces and grandchildren are not mentioned but would like them all to know they are honored, and she loved them all.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas. Cecil Mackey and Therrol DuBois will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
