Services honoring Everett L. Putman were held Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at Church of Christ at Whispering Hills, Broken Arrow, Okla. Burial was at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.

Everett was born on Monday, May 22, 1933, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Virgil and Dessie (Hunter) Putman. Everett passed away in Broken Arrow, Okla., on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at the age of 86.

Everett graduated from Madill High School in 1951 and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education from Northeastern State University. Everett worked in Education as a principal, a teacher and a coach. He worked in the Broken Arrow, Jenks, Checotah and Catoosa School Districts. After retiring from public schools Everett became a bus driver for Broken Arrow Public Schools for about eight years.

Everett married Letha Hill on Sept. 6, 1959, in Hartshorne, Okla. Their union was blessed with two children. Everett was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family and loved spending time with them.

Everett enjoyed woodworking, building things and restoring Farmall tractors. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his garden.

Everett is survived by his wife: Letha Putman, Broken Arrow, Okla.; children: Lisa Copelin and Rod, Broken Arrow, Okla.; Eric Putman, Broken Arrow, Okla.; grandchildren: Ashley and Casey, Levi, Bailie and Clinton, Hunter, Calee, Dicie, Macy, Rylee, Casey; sister: Pauline Tyner, Madill, Okla.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill Putman.
