Ella Jeanette (Gill) Brown was born on August 28, 1936 in Duncan, Okla. to Floyd and Sybile (Spivey) Gill. Ella passed away on November 29, 2020 in Duncan, Okla. at the age of 84.
Ella married Calvin Brown on October 2,1954 and they were blessed with 63 years together until Calvin’s death on November 17, 2017. They moved to Marshall County in the 80’s from Duncan. Ella worked as a CPA and retired Total Petroleum later known as Valero. She was a member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Duncan and she enjoyed playing Sudoku, reading and watching her grandchildren in their sporting events.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Brown; parents Floyd and Sybile Gill; son Mike Brown; sister Yvonna Nessersmith and daughter in law Julie Brown.
Ella is survived by her children Becky Hopkins and husband Billy, Keith “Bubba” Brown and Ricky Brown and wife Teresa; grandchildren Bibi Mabry and husband Daniel, Michael Brown and wife Natalie, Aja Barry and husband Chris, Claud Brown and wife Ashlee, Brian Hopkins and wife Melissa, Ben Hopkins and wife Stefanie, Brittney Mattly and husband Chad, Josh Brown and wife Michelle, Hannah Brown, Jon Brown, Chris Brown and wife Emily, Stephen Brown and wife Sarah and Brad Brown and wife Meredith; 25 great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Lebanon Cemetery. Pastor Joe Patterson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Hopkins, Ben Hopkins, Josh Brown, Chad Mattly, Jon Brown, Chris Brown, Stephen Brown and Brad Brown. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
