Elizabeth Bernice Walling Furrh., 81, of Ardmore, Okla. passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at her home in Ardmore. She was born on February 19, 1940 in Marshall County, Okla. to the late Jessie Lee Walling and Iva Christine Sons Walling.
Bernice was raised in Ardmore where she attended school. She worked at Stage Department Store, Lincoln Bank and retired in 2007 from SORD in Dickson, Okla.
She married Richard Furrh on December 5, 1981 in Carter County and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2007. Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mannsville, and she enjoyed doing genealogy, working crossword puzzles, playing Nintendo, and she loved her grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter; Beverly Higginbotham, and one stepson; Eddie W. Richards.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Collins of Mannsville, Okla., her stepchildren; Leda M. Furrh of Marietta, Okla., Linda Lou Pruett of Marietta, Okla., Laquietta Furrh of Marietta, Okla., Lee Ann Kelly of Ardmore, Okla., and Chris Richards of San Antonio, Texas, three grandchildren; Misty Matlack, Amanda Rowe, Caitlin Vanet and husband Jason, four great grandchildren., and her mother-in-law, Hazel M. Hyman of Marietta, Okla.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lone Cedar Cemetery in Mannsville, Okla. Joe Patterson will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
