Dorothy Laverne Flint

Dorothy Laverne Flint, 74, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore. She was born on September 3, 1948, in Madill to the late Boyd Melvin Self and Lorene Faye Muncrief Self.

Dorothy grew up in Madill and lived her entire life in Marshall County. She worked as a homemaker, and later worked for Family Dollar before working at Dollar General in management. Dorothy later worked at the Madill Hospital as the nutritionist

She married James Jatron Flint on April 10, 1988, in Sherwood Shores, Texas and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2014. Dorothy attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Madill. She enjoyed working in her garden, doing needle point, painting, and working with wood

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; grandparents, Lloyd and Linnie Self, John and Katherine Muncrief; brother, William Lloyd Self and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

.She is survived by her sons, David Weaver of Madill, Okla., Bradley Weaver and wife Lura of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Bryan Armando Weaver, and Obeng James Weaver; sister, Sue Tyner of Madill, Okla.; mother-in-law, Jerri Flint of Madill, Okla.; sister-in-law, Janet Hart of Madill, Okla.; nieces and nephews, Kim Aker and husband Jimmy, Clemon Page and wife Page, Angela Gamble and husband Juston, and Jason Hart; many great nieces and great nephews; extended family, Sherry Hill of Madill, Okla., Laura Rushing of Madill, Okla., Shelly Mancinni of Madill, Okla. and Sarah Parris of Madill, Okla.

Visitation was held Friday, June 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.

Services were Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. John King offi ciated the service. Interment was at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Okla. Casket Bearers were Paul McClendon, Trevor McClendon, Jimmy Aker, Obeng James Weave and Bryan Armando Weaver.
