Doris June Rouse, 74, of Kingston, Okla. passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 in Madill, Okla. She was born on October 15, 1946 to John J. and Dorothy Laverne (Hill) Taylor in Shawnee, Okla.
Doris graduated from Shawnee with the class of 1965 and lived in Shawnee until 1989. She moved to New Jersey until 1996 returning to Shawnee for a short time before moving to Kingston, Oklahoma in 2007.
She married James H. “Jim” Rouse on February 14, 1984 and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2019.
Doris worked for CPN and then retired as a Bookkeeper in 2003 after 19 years with UNISYS.
She was a championship roller-skater, as a child. Doris later loved fishing, boxers and dachshund dogs, eating jelly beans, completing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Charles Ray Hill.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Scarlett and husband Craig Mincher of Bethel; son, Chris Rouse of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Dania and Destiny Mincher, Maria and Jesse Rouse of Kingston.
Visitation was held 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 and continued through service time. Service was 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Patterson of First Baptist Church in Kingston, Okla. officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, Okla. under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
