David Worth Barker, 74, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. He was born on April 2, 1948, in Ashe County, NC to the late William “Jack” Worth Barker and Helen Rose Absher Barker.
DavidwasraisedinAsheCountywhere he married Clarasa Ann Dillard on July 10, 1966. While living in Ashe County, he worked as a Superintendent in the Aggregate Mining Industry. In 1988, he moved to Ardmore where he lived until 2012 when he moved to Madill.
David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madill. He enjoyed going fishing, being on the water, collecting rocks, coins, guns, knives and also raising Beagles for field trails.
David was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Christian Ann Clemens.
David is survived by his wife, Clarasa Barker of Madill, Okla.; children, Chene Cox, and husband Ronnie of West Jefferson, NC, Travis Barker and wife Darschell of Madill, Okla., Gene Barker and wife Melody of Pottsboro, Texas, Candie Ponczka and husband Tim of Mount Ulla, NC, David Barker II and wife Danielle of Holdenville, Okla.; 14 grandchildren, Amanda and husband Jimmy, Tiffany, Greyson, Cade, Cole, Casey Jack, Boone, Luke, Laynie, Gideon, Ruth, Amos, Jonah, and Priscilla; six great grandchildren, Dominic, Brock, Kaydence, Donovan, DayDrian and Vanessa.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Brother Donnie Custer officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.
