Danny (Dan) K. Melton, 64, died on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. due to complications arising from contracting Covid 19. He was born in Sherman, Texas the youngest of three brothers; Don (Salty) the oldest, and David. Dan is the elder brother of sister Susan (Sue), who is the youngest and last of the four children from their parents Ray & Bernice Davis Melton.
Dan’s love for nature and the outdoors began very early in his childhood. It grew into a passion that burned brightly Melton throughout his life, leading him to become a skilled wildlife photographer, and an accomplished hunter outdoorsman.
He was an Oklahoma State University Alum, with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. His distinguished career in the Oil & Gas Industry as a Drilling Foreman spanned the better part of four decades taking him to locations all over the world. Dan enjoyed that part of the job immensely, as he found adventure in new places and terrain his entire life.
Dan will be remembered as a gentle, kind, trustworthy, adventurous, and loving man who brought joy and happiness to all he cared for, whose goodness and thoughtfulness showed through in his actions and deeds. You always knew where you stood with Dan and could count on him for any occasion. If anyone has ever went to Heaven, Dan Melton did. A better man I have never met.
He is survived by his wife; Rhonda J. Melton, his siblings, and two children, Jesse and Calen.
