Danny Glen Elwood 69, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at his home in Madill. He was born on August 14, 1952 in CasaGrande, Ariz. to the late Charles Lee Elwood and Ruby Helen Riggs Benton. He was raised and lived in Casa Grande, Ariz. and in 1973 he moved to Shawnee, Okla. where he worked on a dairy farm.
In 1975, Danny moved back to Arizona where he lived before moving to the Kingston and Madill area in 1983. He worked as a mechanic for OK Tire and Battery in Madill and Pettit, John Deer Company in Ardmore, Okla. before going into his own business as truck driver.
Danny was a member ofthe First Assembly of God Church in Madill and he enjoyed taking vacations, camping, going to the lake and riding his motorcycle. He had a huge heart and loved his family and grandkids deeply.
He is survived by his children, Chris Gentle of Madill, Okla., Trevor Elwood and wife Tiffany of Durant, Okla., Liz Elwood ofCasa Grande, Ariz., Clayton Elmore and wife Sarah of Oklahoma City, Okla., Matthew Elmore and wife Kammie of Kingston, Okla., Randa West and husband John ofTishomingo, Okla., Dusty Hodebeckandhusband David of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Kenlei Elmore, Kash andJhett West, Riley, Carter, Joe, Nina, Kenleigh, Marinna, Zae and Evaiysa; sisters, Diane Jones and husband Wayne ofWhite Hills, Ariz., Debra Sue Rogers and husband Lee of Madill, Okla.; and step father , Tommy Benton of Madill, Okla ..
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane Carl Elwood.
Memorial service was held Tuesday, 2:00p.m., January 25, 2022 at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Pastor Jeff Manuel officiated the service. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
