Charlotte Jacqueline Matchen 87, of Kingston, Okla. passed away, September 1, 2020 at her home in Kingston. She was born on September 21, 1932 in Tacoma, Wash. to the late Leroy Bilodeaux and Irene Miller Bilodeaux.

Charlotte was raised in Tacoma and later lived in Galveston, Texas. She also lived in Hobbs, N.M., and Odessa, Texas before moving to Kingston in 1975 where she lived the rest of her life. Charlotte married Maurice Hugh Matchen Sr. on August 29, 1969 in Kingston Sheltered-in-place bu and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2019. want, local, credible want, She worked local, in banking credible for 45 years and retired from the Landmark Bank in Madill. She was very active in her community where she served as Mayor of Kingston for four years, on the Kingston City Council for 15 years and several years on the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce.

Charlotte was a member of the Light House Methodist Church, Redskins sports booster club and the Eastern Star. While she was in office, she was instrumental in getting the poly carts for the residents of Kingston and adding a turning lane at the dangerous intersection by the casino in Kingston. Charlotte enjoyed gardening, sewing, and loved watching her grandkids play sport activities.

She is survived by her children; Hal Showalter of Kingston, Okla., Hugh Matchen and wife Tressa of Kingston, Okla., Kylene French and husband George of Madill, Okla., grandchildren; Kyla French, Kourtney French Garcia, Wesley French, Jessica Dicken, Zachary Cherry, Hunter Fletcher, Tanner Showalter, Megan Lollis, Devin Muncrief and Braden Matchen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, t husband still and two brothers: Roy and Robert news? Bilodeaux.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Okla. Kent Jensen officiated the service. Service was under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
