Barbara Ann Meeks, 74, of Madill, Okla., passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the Family Care Center in Kingston, Okla. She was born May 16, 1945, in Columbus, Ga., to the late Verna Lanton.
Barbara was raised in Columbus where she attended school and graduated. She married Randal (Randy) Meeks on Sept. 6, 1963, in Columbus. They moved to Madill in 1980 and in 1988 opened and operated The Bar B Q Pit. After they retired, they opened and operated the Madill Coin Laundry. Barbara enjoyed scrapbooking and working in her flower beds and she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Barbara is survived by her husband: Randy Meeks, Kingston, Okla.; children: Regina Meeks, Ft. Smith, Ark.; John Meeks and wife, Jessica, Madill, Okla.; Teri Thomas and husband, John, Roff, Okla.; Mark Meeks and wife, Kelsey, Silo, Okla.; grandchildren: Larissa, Kayla, Kirsty, Kourtnee, Jessi, Lyndsey, JR., Zac, Sara, Mason, Jariah and Magalie. Great-grandchildren: Julian, Mia, Lillian, Kinzleigh and Rylie.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, granddaughter: Hannah Faythe Meeks and great-granddaughter: Ivy Mae Ring.
Visitation was Monday, July 22, 2019, at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a family hour from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Services were 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Cecil Mackey officiated the service.
