Roy Donald Stout, 94, passed away at his home in El Dorado,Calif.onJanuary26,2023.HewasbornNovember 1,1928 in Lynn, Okla. to Jocephus and Iceola Stout. Roy grew up on their family farm with four brothers and two sisters. After his father passed away, he left home at the age of 12 so he could start working and help the family.

He met his wife of 74 years while delivering bread to the B&B Restaurant in Madill, Okla. where she worked as a waitress. They married on Christmas night,December25,1948.Aftermarrying, Roy joined the U.S. Air Force and was transferred to Nevada and in 1952, to California. When his military service was complete, he began working in construction and was a member of Operating Engineers and Southern California Rock, Sand, and Gravel until he retired in 1986.

His interests focused on family, fishing, hunting, traveling, and gardening. He devoted much of his time and energy to his family, home, and his community. He was an Honorary Member and Commander of the American Legion Post 132 in Orange, Calif. for many years where he was an avid fundraiser for high school scholarships provided to underprivileged children.

Roy is survived by his wife, Lena Rae Henson; his two daughters, Donna Webb, and Debbie Powell; three grandsons, Daniel and Brandon Webb, and Tyler Powell; fourgreat-grandchildren,Corey,Kyle,Madison,andIsaiah Webb; three great-grandchildren, Selena, Genovieve, and Leeland Webb.

Roy will be laid to rest with a military tribute on February 10, 2023 at the Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery in Rescue, Calif.
