Redskins vs Plainview Indians
After the “debacle” on Friday at Byng and an early afternoon game on Saturday, it would have been understandable if the Redskins might have been a step slower or shown signs of fatigue. Not so, the Redskins won another Lake Country Conference game. The final score was Redskins 46 to 43 over the Plainview Indians.
In the first, the Redskins got off to a slow start and the Indians put themselves a few points ahead. Reid Cason had two buckets and two free throws. Drew Anderson went to the free throw line. He was 1 of 2. After one quarter, the score had the Redskins trailing by 10, 17 to 7.
The second quarter was a carbon copy of the first for Cason. Two buckets and two free throws, one however was a big dunk. Brock Rumer continued his sharp shooting with a three pointer. Anderson again had a bucket, and this time was 2 of 2 from the line. All this and the Redskins were able to cut the lead down to three, 27 to 24.
Cason had three more baskets in the quarter. Rumer hit his second three pointer and cut the lead to two points, 29 to 27. Hayden Seeney and Oliger each had a three pointer. Oliger added another field goal. Seeney’s three came at the 2:05 mark and the lead was now Redskins side 41 to 32. The Indians showed a little life and brought it back to 41 to 34 at the end of the quarter.
At the 3:45 mark the Redskins were up by five, 43 to 36. Oliger had the only bucket of the quarter. It cameatthe1:45mark. Cash Walker hit a free throw. Oliger went to the line and promptly missed both free throws. Irony was on his side, though, as the Plainview player missed both of his. The Redskins held on and got the win. The final score was 46 to 43.
