The Lady Wildcats had a full week of game play last week. On Monday, September 19, the Lady Wildcats had a double header with Ringling and Atoka.
Against Ringling, the Lady Wildcats put up eight runs in the first on its way to a ten to three victory over theRinglingLadyBluedevils. The Wildcats put the pressure on, led by an error on a ball put in play by Zeplyn Thomas, Andie Wallace, Dahlia Marris and Ireland Groeber and a single by Peyton Arnold. The Lady Wildcats got on the board in the first inning when Arnold singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Maryn Mancini pitched the Wildcats to victory. The lefty went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out six and walking one. The Lady Wildcats had ten hits in the game. Arnold, Mancini, and Thomas each managed multiple hits.
For the second game of the day against Atoka, both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle. However, the Lady Wildcats defeated Atoka three to two. Arnold was the winning pitcher, surrendering two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Marris, Arnold, Kaia Henry andGroebereachmanaged a hit for the Lady Wildcats.
On Tuesday, September 20, the Lady Wildcats took on the number one ranked Thackerville Lady Wildcats. Madill fell to Thackerville seven to six on the final play of the game. The game was tied at six with Thackerville batting in the bottom of the seventhwhen theysingledon the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Despite the loss, Madill Lady Wildcats did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Mancini took the loss for Madill, allowing ten hits and seven runs over six and a third innings, striking out five and walking zero. Marris went two-for-four at the plate to lead the in hits for the Lady Wildcats.
On Thursday, September 22, the Madill competed in a double header district standoff against the Sulphur Bulldogs. In game one, the Lady Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a six to four loss.
Mancini took the loss. The lefthander allowed four hits and five runs over six innings, striking out five and walking zero. Marris led the Lady Wildcats with two hits in four at bats. Despite the loss, Madill out hit Sulphur five to four.
Inthesecondgameagainst Sulphur, the Lady Wildcats fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13 to zero loss. Arnold took the loss for Madill, lasting five innings, allowing ten hits and 13 runs while striking out five and walking one. Mancini, Kimber Gentis, Arnold, and Groeber each managed one hit during the game.
On Saturday, the Madill took on the number one ranked Tishomingo Lady Indians. Falling to the Lady Indians 12 to four.
Mancini took the loss, going six and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 runs on nine hits and striking out three. Madill scattered nine hits in the game. Marris and Groeber all managed multiple hits
