Helen Hortense Mann, 104, of Madill, Okla. passed away on September 15, 2022, at the Brookside Nursing Center, in Madill. She was born on July 31, 1918, in Marshall County to the late Elmer Hobbs and Lena Irene Kemp Hobbs. Helen was raised in Madill and graduated from Aylesworth High School in 1936.
She married Murl Fred Mann on May 14, 1938, in Madill and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1971. Helen worked at her dad’s café, and she loved being a homemaker and raising her family. She attended the Trinity Southern Baptist church in Madill, and she enjoyed being with family at Christmas, cooking for her granddaughters, and doing needle point.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Curtis Mann; one brother, Preston, and four sisters;,Lorene, Pearl, Viola and Charlene.
Helen is survived by her grandchildren, Janice Brown and husband Jim of Oklahoma City, Okla., Laura Prittie and husband Shane of Allen, Texas; great grandchildren, Taylor Sutton and Paul of Allen, Texas; great great grandchild, Paul Wayne Michael Sutton of Allen, Texas; sister, Betty Clark of Weed, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral service was Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Del Johnson officiated the service. Interment wasat the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
