Edward Haskell Capps

Edward Haskell Capps, 79, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2022. He was born July 22, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Okla. to Elva and Haskell Capps.

Edd graduated from Mustang High School in 1960. He enjoyed playing semipro football in the Oklahoma City area and was an avid softball player, as well as a lifelong fan of sports. He started a career in sales that he maintained for many years before moving to the public school system where he eventually retired after several years.

Mter retirement he and Geneva enjoyed many hobbies together including garage and estate sales, collecting cars, traveling, as well as keeping up with the lives of his many children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Myrtie Henley and Amelia McClanahan.

Edd is survived by his wife Geneva Rose Capps of 26 years; sisters, Rachel Linstead of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Nancy Capps of Clarksville, Ark.; children: Martha Biggers and husband Brad of Oklahoma City, Okla., Deborah Purdy and husband Pat of Bethany, Okla., Donna Hunter and husband Wes of Yukon, Okla., John Capps and wife Andrea of Kingston, Okla., and Misty Brinson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Craig Stevens, Tommy Stevens, Carrie Capps, Elizabeth Hunter, Wesley Hunter Jr., Ryan Capps, Drew Capps, Kiya Hunter, Kinsey Brinson and Kelsey Brinson, as well as 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2022 at the Yanda & Son Chapel in Yukon, Okla. with interment following at 1:30 p.m., at Sharon Cemetery, Gotebo, Okla.
