Inola Marjorie Frost Brown, 99, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. She was born on March 22, 1922, in Rexroat, Okla. to the late Mark Cicero Frost and Rosa Etta Glisson Frost.
Inola lived in Carter County and graduated from Ardmore High School in 1940. Upon graduation, she attended nursing school in Hattiesburg, Miss. Inola married Harold Denson Brown on March 3, 1942 in Tupelo, Miss. In 1947, they moved to Madill where they made their home. Harold and Inola had three children: Harold Jr., Charles, and Iris. Harold, Sr. preceded her in death on December 4, 1979.
Inola served as the county nurse through the Marshall County Health Department and retired after twenty-seven years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Madill Garden Club, Area Council on Aging, and the Silver Haired Legislature. Inola was an excellent artist and enjoyed painting and traveling.
Inola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children, nine sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Barry Brown and wife Rachel of Norman, Katie Hill and husband Brad of Alva, Elizabeth Scott and husband Yannash of Madill, Mark Brown and wife Callie, of Norman, Meredith Bruce of London, United Kingdom, and Ian Adam Bruce of Austin, Texas; five great grandchildren, Maggie Brown, Joe Brown, James Hill, Jasper Scott, and Morgan Brown; and one sister, Maxine Terry of Arlington, Texas.
Visitation was Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service was held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Katie Hill officiated the service. Music was arranged by Elizabeth Scott and Sue Beard. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
