The Eighth Graders at Madill Middle School competed in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and It’s Auxiliary Patriot’s Pen Youth Essay Competition.
The title of the essay was “How to Be a Good American”
We had three place at the District Level and were awarded their medals and certificates at a ceremony Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Ardmore at the local VFW.
Winners were: 3rd place Eeliah Love-Faucett, 2nd place Lauren Landgraf, and 1st place Andrea Robles.
Andrea’s essay was sent on to the State Level for competition, where she also placed 1st and is the STATE WINNER. She will be honored at a banquet Saturday, February 19, 2022, in Norman, Oklahoma.
