Rachel Lee McLain, 74, passed from this life on January 2, 2022. Rachel was born November 25, 1947 in Grayson County Texas, the youngest daughter of Truman Richard Evans and Ruby Lee Evans. She married the love of her life, Melvin (Mac) McLain on Oct 24, 1975.
Rachel was an avid homemaker who loved to cook, bake, and mow the lawn. She was a hard worker and willing to help whenever needed, whether it be working with livestock, or helping find a misplaced wrench in the shop. She drove many miles to pick up feed supplements and vehicle parts.
Rachel suffered from dementia for the last few years, and was bedfast at the time of her death. She attended the Whitesboro Holiness Church of Jesus Christ until she was no longer able.
Rachel is survived by her husband of 46 years, Melvin (Mac) McLain of the family home; daughter, Paula Jean of Texas; son, Kevin Charles of Oklahoma; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister, Ava Gay of Texas.
Rachel was laid to rest in the Powell Cemetery on January 7, 2022. Arrangements were provided by Gordon Funeral home of Durant, Okla.
Our thanks to Rachel's hospice nurses, Alyssa and Stacy, for their help and advice on her care. The family would appreciate your prayers during this difficult time.
