Cornelius Smith is new to the Madill Wildcat scene. Even though he’s a senior at Madill, it is his first year in Madill Public Schools. His proud parents are Cornelius Smith, Alean Addison, and Jennifer Smith.
Smith plays football, basketball, baseball, and runs track. He has even competed and won medals in the 100 dash, the four by one, four by two, as well as the long jump. When it comes to his participation in sports, he said his uncle and his pops have influenced and helped him.
“I’d like to say thank you to my parents for everything that y’all have done for me in my life,” Smith said.
Smith said that his uncle is the one who has pushed him to do more and to be different from other people, and Coach Sisco pushed him to be the best on the field and in class.
He said he doesn’t have a favorite Madill memory just yet, the ones that stick out the most are when he is able to make a play or do something good for the team that helps them win. Smith said he is thankful for the welcoming nature of Madill.
“I would like to thank the coaches for letting me come to Madill and show y’all what I can do and helping me make my last year of high school a good time,” he said.
As far as advice to the underclassmen, Smith said it is important to keep pushing forward.
“I would like to say to the younger classman to just to keep doing what you have to do in school and in life. Push yourself to be better than others around you.”
