Eduardo “Tito” Gomez

Eduardo Arturo Gomez, also known by those close to him as Tito, is a senior at Madill High School. He is the son of Oscar and Bianca Gomez. He has two younger brothers named Damian and Oscar, along with a sister Daleyza.

Gomez has attended Madill public schools since pre-k. Over the years, he has participated in football, wrestling, and baseball. He said his favorite memory from all the years of playing sports was this year when he got the chance to play with his fellow teammates and defeated the Durant Lions. He said memories of practicing in the rain and cold with his buddies over the years are unforgettable, as well. “The person that has inspired me when it came to sports was my uncle Cesar Gomez,” he said, “I remember watching him play when I was a kid and thought I want to play just like him.”

Gomez said his biggest challenge the last few years has been the process of learning how to grow up and learning from it. He said he wants to thank his coaches for helping him stay on track and for believing in him, and his family for their unwavering support.

“My mom has inspired me in life. She always stays positive no matter what and always manages whatever situation as well as always has the right words to say,” he said. “I’d like to tell both my parents that I love them. I might not be the best son at times, but you two have no idea how lucky I feel to call you guys my parents.”

When it comes to advice for his younger classman, he said persistence is the key.

“Just keep going and always push yourself to be better than you were yesterday.”
