Jean Ann Pruitt

Jean Ann Pruitt, 83 of Madill, Okla., passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at her home in Madill. She was born on October 4, 1937 in Oilton, Okla. to the late William Otho Simpson and Norene Braudrick Simpson.

Jean Ann attended Madill School and later married the love of her life, Marland W. (Bob) Pruitt Sr. on May 21, 1955 in Little City, Okla. Bob preceded her in death on September 24, 2010. Jean Ann worked for several years as a Bookkeeper/ Secretary for Sutherland Well Service and later for Marshall County EMS. She also baked cakes and sugar cookies for many friends and families throughout the county.

She was a member of the Grantham Baptist Church, OSU Extension Homemakers, long time supporter of the Marshall County Junior Livestock Association and the Madill Round-Up Club in her early years. She enjoyed baking, working in her garden, cooking for family and friends and canning and preserving the fruits of her labor.

Jean Ann’s greatest love was spending time with her family and serving Sunday dinners to everyone that stopped in for a visit at their farm home in Kinlock.

She is survived by her children: Marland W. Pruitt Jr. and wife Shari of Madill, Okla., Bobby Gene Pruitt and wife Jamie of Bristow, Okla., Joseph Scott Pruitt and wife Renee of Katy, Texas, Kathy Norene Germany and Scott Sutherland of Madill, Okla., Mechalle Tiabeth Ore and husband D.J of Stillwater, Okla., Shannon Sue Williams and husband Joe Ben of Madill, Okla., 14 Grandchildren: Justin Thompson, John David Thompson, Christopher Tomlinson, Joe Medlen,Allie Sutherland, MW Pruitt III, Lane Pruitt, Quinn Pruitt, Colby Pruitt, Caleb Pruitt, Conner Pruitt, Josie Heston, Gracie Ore, Griffon Williams, 10 great grandchildren: Avery Tomlinson, Ainsley Tomlinson, Addison Tomlinson, Easton Pruitt, Everett Pruitt, Skylon Johnson, Marlee Pruitt, Madison Pruitt, Colton Pruitt, Mason Pruitt, brother: Bill David Simpson of Piedmont, Okla., sisters: Phyllis Raye Shelby and husband Tony of Edmond, Okla., Maribeth Hudson and husband Jeff of Madill, Okla., as well as a special nephew, Mickey Pruitt and several honorary “grandkids”

Jean Ann was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother; Myrtle Simpson, husband and brother; William Keith Simpson

Visitation will be Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Madill, Okla. Claud Williams will officiate the service. Interment will beat the Pruitt Family Cemetery in Pruittville, Okla. Service wi11 be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
