The 33rd Annual Oil Mill Hill Reunion was held on July 3 and July 4, 2021. The reunion always has a dominoes tournament that accompanies it.
The tournament is held every year on East Drew Street on the ‘Hill.’ The annual tournament began small and then snowballed from there.
It all began with a few Madill natives who met up for a get together. The original players are Wade Watson, Charles Hastings, Letha Qualls, Charlie Byars, Lonnie “Q” Qualls, and Betty Manifee.
The tradition has since continued every fourth of July weekend for the past 33 years. The event also includes a community BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs and of course, the dominoes tournament.
Participants travel from near and far in Oklahoma and Texas to attend. The majority of participants are Madill natives who are in town for the Independence Day weekend.
Oil Mill Hill encourages others in Marshall County to show up to next year’s festivities and join in on the fun.
