The Sand Bass Festival is here in Madill, Okla. Hopefully, the weather will hold out for all to enjoy.
I am pleased to announce that the winner of the Axe Throwing Board with axes was Tori Lopez and the proceeds of the raffle will go toward improvements within Jurassic Park.
The Mexican Pile-on and Baked goods auction hosted by the Texoma Southern Baptist Church WOM (Women on Missions) was received by a good crowd. The proceeds will help benefit the Hope Pregnancy Center.
On Saturday June 12, starting at 9 a.m., the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting their 12th Annual Golf tournament to be held at the Buncombe Creek Golf Course in Willis, Okla. Cash prizes will be awarded for the various events. Let’s hope for good weather and a good turnout.
The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be meeting June 15 to choose the winner of the quilt raffle. They have been selling tickets for a gorgeous handmade queen quilt donated by Sherri Orr. Call Cheryl at 564-7102 for tickets. There is still time to purchase some tickets.
Buncombe Creek lost a dear, sweet soul on May 31 when our own Barbie Jones went to join our Lord unexpectedly.A beautiful sunset vigil along with a colorful rainbow surfaced in the horizon as all who gathered mourned this sweet gal who touched so many lives. She will be greatly missed. Have a safe week. “Do not give your past the power to define your future!”
