The rainy showers almost daily seem a nuisance, but the ground cover is certainly enjoying it. Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day.
Kingston will be honoring their seniors on June 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the NKSD Stadium with a Graduation Ceremony so school will be officially over for most.
There is much coming up to enjoy these next couple of weeks. The Magnolia Festival is about to kick off on June 3 through June 5 in Durant with the Sand Bass Festival following on June 7 through June 12 in Madill, Okla. Hopefully, the weather will hold out for all to enjoy.
As a reminder, the members of Jurassic Park are raffling off an Axe Throwing Board and axes as a fundraiser for the park. They will have the board and axes on the beach over the Memorial weekend so you can still purchase tickets.
The WOM (Women on Missions) will be having a Mexican Pile-on dinner and dessert auction on June 3 starting at 6:00 p.m. to be held at the Texoma Southern Baptist Church. The proceeds will help benefit the Hope Pregnancy Center. They do a good job of serving up some good vittles. Try to come.
I hear the Southern Striper Babes will be holding their 3rd annual “all ladies fishing tournament” to be held on Saturday, June 12 staring at 6:00 a.m. More information can be found on social media. Sounds like fun.
Also on June 12, the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting their 12th annual Golf tournament to be held at the Buncombe Creek Golf Course in Willis, Okla. Cash prizes will be awarded for the various events.
Your participation and/or donation is greatly appreciated. This is the department’s main fundraiser for the year. Hope to see you there.
The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be meeting June 15th to choose the winner of the quilt raffle. Hopefully, you all bought your tickets!
