Joe Don Cook, 67, of Madill, Okla. passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Okla. He was born on March 6, 1954 in Ardmore to Don Cook and Bettye Massey Cook Albers.
Joe was raised in Madill, where he graduated from Madill High School. He also attended and graduated from Southeastern State University with a Political Science Degree. After graduation, Joe studied school of law at Oklahoma City University.
He started office outfitters furniture and after 26 years finally closed the doors. He was a member of Calvary Christian Church in Ardmore and if he could have been a member of the dad jokes team; he would have been president. Joe enjoyed many things in his life from OU Football, race cars, to corny jokes, but most importantly his grandchildren. He loved to tell everyone about them. Joe will be missed deeply by everyone that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother Bettye Albers of Madill, Okla., children; Judson Cook and wife Leticia of Oklahoma City, Okla., Heather Doss and husband Jeremy of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jody Spaugh and husband Mike of Kingston, Okla., Mandy Kern and husband Kenneth of Broken Arrow, Okla., Misty Cook of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Melody Bazih and husband Hanny of McKinney, Texas, 12 grandchildren; Chaz Cook, Kelsi Doss, Kendyl doss, Abagail Wood, Rayce Grigg, Samuel Cook, Katilina Calva, Joey Calva, Kolton Kern, Izabele Bazih, Leilah Bazih and Kadyn Kern, two great grandchild; Londyn and Rayden Larsh, sister Sue Rushing and husband Randy of Madill, Okla., brothers; Will Cook and wife Karen of Madill, Okla., and Charles Cook and wife Molly of Denton, Texas, and many nephews and a niece of Madill, Oklahoma.
Joe was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Judson Cook will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Okla. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
Casket Bearers will be Kenny Ballou, Charlie Cook, Will Cook, Jodie Minter, Kenneth Kern, Jeremy Doss, and Hanny Bazih.
